Jones struck England Six Nations injury blow

London - England wing Jonny May was on Thursday ruled out of the upcoming Six Nations after a knee operation, his Premiership side Gloucester announced.

The 25-year-old, capped 19 times for England, required surgery following a ligament injury suffered during his club's Premiership game against Harlequins at Twickenham 11 days ago.

As well as missing the Six Nations May is also out of Gloucester's domestic and European campaigns.

The news comes 48 hours after Bath lock Dave Attwood was ruled out of new England coach Eddie Jones' Six Nations campaign after undergoing neck surgery.

England kick off their campaign against Scotland at Murrayfield on February 6.
