Cape Town - England moved up to seventh place in the official World Rugby rankings released on Monday.

This follows their 15-9 victory Six Nations win over Scotland at Murrayfield last Saturday.

The result earned Eddie Jones's charges a points increase of 1.12, taking them above France, who eked out  a 23-21 win against Italy in Paris.

Scotland lost 1.12 ranking points, which costs them a place in the top 10 as they fall two places to 11th.

With Scotland falling out of the top 10, Japan and Fiji rise to ninth and 10th respectively.

Meanwhile, the Springboks - who finished third at last year’s Rugby World Cup - remain in the No 3 position, behind World Cup finalists Australia and world champions New Zealand.
