Ebersohn leaves White's Montpellier

Cape Town - South African-born centre Robert Ebersohn will leave Jake White’s Montpellier to join Castres ahead of the new French club season.

The former Cheetahs and Blitzboks player has represented Montpellier in the Top 14 since 2013.

He was one of seven new signings announced by Castres on Tuesday.

Castres also confirmed the recruitment of South African-born prop Daniel Kotze from Clermont, Western Force forward Steve Mafi, Albi centre Afusipa Taumoepeau, Chiefs back-row Ma'ala Vaipulu and props Damien Tussac (Montauban) and Tudor Stroe (Tarbes).

Those signings join other new faces in Oyonnax hooker Jody Jenneker, also South African-born, and Clermont lock Loïc Jacquet.
