Clermont sign 'The Tongan Bear' from Hurricanes

Cape Town - Clermont have announced the signing of loosehead prop Loni Uhila, who will join from the Hurricanes at the end of Super Rugby 2017.

The 27-year-old, nicknamed 'The Tongan Bear', has put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the option of two further seasons after that.

Uhila impressed for the Hurricanes this season and also Waikato in the Mitre 10 Cup and is sure to make a physical impact in the Top 14.

Along with Uhila, Clermont have already signed Scotland scrum-half Greig Laidlaw and Castres wing Remy Grosso ahead of next season.
