Cape Town - The Stormers are only set to announce their Super Rugby captain next week, and it will be Nizaam Carr who leads them at Newlands on Saturday in their final warm-up match against the Jaguares.

It will be a first glimpse of the new Argentinean franchise for the Stormers and South Africa after Rugby World Cup 2015 suggested that they will be a force to be reckoned with in their maiden Super Rugby venture.

The Stormers travel to Buenos Aires on March 26 for their clash against the Jaguares in Super Rugby in what is set to be one of their toughest fixtures of the season.

Along with the Bulls and Cheetahs, the Stormers will not play any of the New Zealand franchises in the group stages of the competition.

It has all been a bit difficult to grasp.

"I think half of the squad are still not sure," Carr joked when talking about Super Rugby's new format.

"As a leader you must know what’s going on. We’re just trying to take it game by game. Some of the boys are obviously a bit disappointed not to test themselves against the New Zealand sides … so hopefully we’ll get them in the semi-final or the final."

Carr said there was no thinking within the squad that the Stormers had been gifted an easy draw.

"We’re not sure what to expect from the Jaguares and also the new Japanese team," said Carr.

"Although it seems easier, we’re not going to go in with that mindset. We’re going to take every game as if it’s a final and take it from there."

Kick-off at Newlands on Saturday is at 16:00.
