Cape Town - Despite signing a deal with English club Saracens, Schalk Burger will be available for the Stormers in this year’s Super Rugby competition.
The English champions on Monday announced they had signed the Springbok loose forward on a two-year deal.
However, Burger - who is currently playing club rugby in Japan for Suntory Sungoliath - will join Saracens only after his Super Rugby commitments with the Stormers in 2016.
On his future move to Saracens, the 32-year old Burger told Saracens’ official website: “I’m delighted to be joining Saracens. I’m extremely excited to have the opportunity to play in both the Aviva Premiership and the European Cup, two of the leading competitions in world rugby for such a special club.”
He boasts 86 Test caps since making his debut in 2003.
