Bok duo named in Japan's Top League best XV

Cape Town - Springboks JP Pietersen and Andries Bekker were named in the Japanese Top League’s Team of the Season.

The 2015/16 Japanese season concluded this past weekend when Pietersen’s Panasonic Wild Knights won their third straight Top League title.

They beat Frans Steyn’s Toshiba Brave Lupus 27-26 in the final.

Following the completion of the Japanese season, a best XV was chosen with Pietersen and Bekker the two South Africans named.

Bekker plays for the Kobelco Steelers, who are coached by former Stormers coach Allister Coetzee. The Steelers were knocked out in the knockout stages.

Pietersen tweeted a picture of himself and Bekker posing with the Top League’s Team of the Season:
