BaaBaas summon spirit of 1890

Cape Town - The Barbarians have summoned up the spirit of 1890 to help celebrate their 125th anniversary at Twickenham this weekend.

Barbarians players from Australia, New Zealand and South Africa posed for images this week that echo an 1890s portrait of the famous invitation club’s founder William Percy Carpmael.

South Africa’s Victor Matfield, Australia’s Stephen Moore and New Zealand’s Nehe Milner-Skudder posed for the pictures taken and digitally enhanced by Getty Images.

Springboks great Matfield - who leads the side against Argentina on Saturday - and World Breakthrough Player Milner-Skudder posed with a vintage ball for the pictures by Getty’s Chris Lee.

But Australia captain Moore was the star of the show with a Victorian moustache that puts him into the period perfectly
