New Zealand and Australia will contest the 2015 final match at Twickenham.

Veldsman was confirmed as Television Match Official (TMO) for the Twickenham decider, while Peyper has been appointed as the reserve assistant referee.

Hoskins praised the two SA match officials and wished them well for the big match on Saturday: “To participate in a RWC final is the ultimate achievement of any match official and I want to congratulate Shaun and Jaco on their respective appointments,” he said.

“South Africa has a very proud tradition of producing outstanding match officials and we at SARU are indeed extremely proud of their involvement in the biggest match of the 2015 RWC. On behalf of the South African rugby fraternity, I want to wish them well for the big occasion on Saturday.”

Nigel Owens has been appointed to referee the RWC final. The 44-year-old from Wales is a veteran of 67 Tests but on Saturday at 18:00 (SA time) he will take charge of the biggest match of his career to date.

Owens will become just the seventh referee to do the job, following in the footsteps of Kerry Fitzgerald (1987), Derek Bevan (1991), Ed Morrison (1995), Andre Watson (1999 and 2003), Alain Rolland (2007) and Craig Joubert (2011).

The final will take place at Twickenham between New Zealand and Australia on Saturday with Owens being joined on the line by Jérôme Garcès of France and England’s Wayne Barnes, with Veldsman of South Africa being the TMO.

The night before, at The Stadium, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London, Argentina will take on South Africa in the bronze final (22:00 SA time) and John Lacey of Ireland will take charge of that match. His assistant referees will be Glen Jackson and Chris Pollock, both from New Zealand. Graham Hughes of England will be TMO.
