Boks stay 3rd in rankings

Cape Town - There have been no changes in the top four of rugby's world rankings that were released on Monday after this past weekend's World Cup semi-finals.

The Springboks stay in 3rd position ahead of Argentina after both sides lost to New Zealand and Australia respectively.

The World Rugby website did confirm, however, that Friday's bronze medal play-off between South Africa and the Pumas would in all likelihood determine which of the sides finishes the year in 3rd place.

That gives the Springboks some incentive in a game that otherwise means little.

New Zealand remain top of the rankings while Australia stay second.
