Bok team announcement delayed

Cape Town - The South African Rugby Union (SARU) has confirmed that Wednesday's team announcement for Saturday's crucial Rugby World Cup clash against Scotland has been delayed by a few hours.

The team was originally due to be announced at 11:00 (SA time), as was the case for the previous two matches, but SARU have confirmed that the team announcement will now take place at 18:00.

Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer will also be naming a new captain for the tournament after Jean de Villiers returned home with a broken jaw following Saturday's 46-6 win over Samoa.

Saturday's match at St. James' Park in Newcastle kicks off at 17:45.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
