Bok RWC squad named on Friday

Cape Town - The Springbok squad for this year's Rugby World Cup will be named at a hotel in Durban on Friday (August 28) at 18:00.

The squad for the showpiece event in England and Wales will consist of 31 players.

The Springboks are in Pool B along with Japan, Samoa, Scotland and the USA. They start their campaign against the Brave Blossoms in Brighton on September 19.

Should South Africa win Pool B, they will face the runner-up of Pool A, which could possibly be Australia, England or Wales.

If the Boks reach the semi-finals, the All Blacks would in all likelihood be their opponents.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
