Wilkinson left on bench

Sydney - England rugby coach Martin Johnson has resisted calls to bring back Jonny Wilkinson to add some spark to his misfiring backline for the second Test against Australia in Sydney on Saturday.

Johnson has made just two changes to the starting side beaten 27-17 in Perth last week, bringing in Ben Youngs at halfback for Danny Care, who drops to the bench, and giving Courtney Lawes his chance at lock in place of Simon Shaw.

England overpowered the Wallabies in the tight forwards in Perth but were let down by an underperforming backline, who were sadly lacking in any creativity.

The only time the backs looked at all dangerous was when Youngs came on late in the game.

Johnson has rewarded the Leicester scrumhalf with a place in the starting line-up.

The other change come on the bench with Delon Armitage replacing Matthew Tait as a back reserve.
