WATCH: SA Varsity Shield team performs 'haka'

Cape Town - The Varsity Shield dished up a rather interesting pre-match show on Thursday as members of the Walter Sisulu University side performed a 'haka' before their match against Rhodes.

The match took place at Buffalo City Stadium in East London, and video footage of the performance was greeted with loud cheers from a small, but vocal home crowd.

The Walter Sisulu side is nicknamed the 'All Blacks' on their Twitter handle, and the hosts would go on to win the match 47-6 in a dominant display.

Video footage of the 'haka' made its way onto social media platforms on Friday, with some suggesting that it was disrespectful to the All Blacks.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
