Cape Town - The Varsity Cup has amended the White Card review system to be used in this year's tournament.
The White Card review system was introduced in 2015 to allow teams the opportunity to ask the referee to review a decision or non-decision in all televised matches.
However, in 2016 the system will only be used in the semi-finals (Monday, March 28) and final (Monday, April 11) - which will both be screened live on SuperSport.
Furthermore, each team will be limited to one review per half.
The change will only be tested in the Varsity Cup and will not affect the Varsity Shield, Koshuis Cup or the Young Guns.
This year's tournament kicks off on Monday, February 8.
