Cape Town - FNB UJ secured a crucial 34-22 victory over FNB UCT in a tense match in Cape Town on Monday night to move above the Ikey Tigers on the Varsity Cup log.

UCT suffered their second loss in as many weeks at home and they will need to finish the season strongly if they are to secure a home semifinal.

UJ were full value for their bonus-point win, running in four converted tries and making a serious statement about their ambitions this season as the competition heats up.
