UCT dramatically beat Pukke 39-33 in Potchefstroom, scoring three tries in the last five minutes to stun the home crowd at the Fanie du Toit Sports Grounds.

According to the SA Rugbymag website, it has since emerged that one of the UCT players was involved in an altercation after the game, and allegedly assaulted a female Pukke fan.

UCT confirmed that they are looking into the matter and released the following statement via their official website:

"The Ikeys Rugby Club are aware of an allegation of assault made on social media against one of our players.

"We take the allegations seriously and will fully co-operate with an investigation.

"While the processes are underway the player accused is entitled to the presumption of innocence, but if the accusation is proven we will take appropriate action."
