Cape Town - Former Springbok coach Jake White says the biggest problem in the Springbok backline is the constant change occurring at scrumhalf and flyhalf.
White - who has recently been appointed as new coach of the Brumbies - feels that Springbok coach Peter de Villers changes his halfback pairing too often.
White believes the Boks could take a leaf out of the books of their Australian and New Zealand counterparts by sticking with the same combination at 9 and 10.
"The most important aspect for me is changing the scrumhalf and flyhalf constantly. What I've learnt is that the more the halfbacks play together, the better it is for the outside backs and the team in general," said White on his website, RugbyXV.
"Look at Cowan and Carter (New Zealand), Genia and Cooper (Australia) - especially with the latter pair, once everything is in place, the confidence grows in your halfbacks. Francois Hougaard is now injured so Ruan Pienaar started, and next week it will be Fourie du Preez. Your attacking play falls into place when there is better understanding between your 9 and 10."
