Turner returns for Wallabies

Sydney - Winger Lachie Turner will make a surprise first start of the year for Australia in their final Tri-Nations Test against New Zealand on Saturday.

Turner was a late call-up by coach Robbie Deans after injuries to Peter Hynes and Cameron Shephard and will replace Drew Mitchell, who pulled out with a pulled hamstring.

Australia, on a nine-game losing streak against the All Blacks, will be looking to build on their pulsating 41-39 win over South Africa last weekend.

Mitchell's omission is the only change from the Wallabies team who stunned South Africa in Bloemfontein for the Bledisloe Cup clash in Sydney.

Deans also added reserve hooker Huia Edmonds to the Australian bench to replace the suspended Saia Fainga'a, banned for a dangerous tackle in the win over the Springboks.

New Zealand have already clinched the Bledisloe Cup and Tri-Nations crowns this year.
