Cape Town - Lock Victor Matfield became the third Springbok - and 16th player overall - to play 100 Tests for his country on Saturday against the Wallabies at Loftus Versfeld in Pretoria.

Matfield joins Percy Montgomery (102 Tests) and John Smit (101 and counting) as Test centurions in the Green and Gold.

Matfield was the first of the three to emerge victorious in their milestone Test, after the Boks lost to the All Blacks in both Montgomery and Smit's 100th matches.

The 16 Test centurions:
