Kirchner ruled out

2010-08-16 17:58

Johannesburg - A knee cartilage injury has ruled Springbok fullback Zane Kirchner out of Saturday's Test against the All Blacks in Johannesburg.
Kirchner had a scan on his left knee on Monday after sustaining an injury during an Absa Currie Cup fixture last weekend. He has been withdrawn by the Springbok medical team.
His progress will be monitored and a decision on his availability for the remainder of the Vodacom Tri-Nations will be made at a later date.

  • BALSAK(alias Blue Bul Hater) - 2010-08-16 18:16

GOOD NEWS, I really don't know why he was still part of the squad. It's time for PDV to get Conrad Jantjes involve in the springbok squad!!! After all he was the Springbok no.15, before his injury!!! But PLEASE keep this FOOL(Zane) out of the springbok camp!!! WP groete!!

  • Dion - 2010-08-16 18:21

Now we have a chance, I always thought his name was Zane Kirchener Droppeddaball !!

  • Confused - 2010-08-16 18:22

    Who is Zane Kirchner again?

  • Craig - 2010-08-16 18:31

That was quite bright of old Divvy - Release Zane and Dewald to play against WP, and now they are both injured. Maybe he wanted to play Gio at fullback anyway !

  • Koos Kaap - 2010-08-16 18:41

Ja nee, die Wp het jou uit die toets uit getaccle

  • rockafella - 2010-08-16 18:42

Now we just need to get rid of Pdiv and we'll be back on course to building a proper Springbok team.

  • Vic J - 2010-08-16 18:45

This guy is rubbish. How the Bulls kept him on, only they know. Yipee hooray. Nog a piep.

  • dean - 2010-08-16 18:46

now all we need is for that useless Ricky Januarie to get flu or injyred as well...................

  • Ross - 2010-08-16 19:10

how ironic. . . would have been a perfect opportunity to reintroduce frans steyn...but alas . . .

  • Blue Jake - 2010-08-16 19:16

I would love to see all of your reactions if one of your children gets injured. It's kind of pathetic to be happy when someone gets hurt. It shows a lack of culture/upbringing.

  • Siestog - 2010-08-16 19:18

Hoe hartseer om al die suur WP manne te sien kerm...haai siestog!

  • rugbydude - 2010-08-16 19:31

PDV must be the only guy in the country that thinks Zane Kirchner deserves a place in the squad.

  • Vic J - 2010-08-16 19:59

@Blue Jake, you have lost the plot, no one wishes anybody to get hurt or injured. What we are saying, he is not Springbok or even provincual material, and the only Div was going to replace him, if he was not available or injured.

  • sharky - 2010-08-16 20:13

how zane got knocked around in the wp match just proves how predickable zane is, wp read him like a book, zane is no loss he is usles

  • mike - 2010-08-17 01:39

Knock on from Steyn mess up. Now we don't have a descent fullback in the squad. Suppose they'll play that midget from WeePee...

  • Billabong - 2010-08-17 04:48

Agge nee! Wie gaan nou al ons up-and-unders skop? Skop Skop Skop

  • Arnie - 2010-08-17 07:33

@BALSAK, I don't think that Jantjes is much better than Kirschner same style also drops balls... we have better fullbacks since Frans is out, try Aplon? or Danillier or the Griekwas fullback.

  • Makutu - 2010-08-17 08:17

LOL, this is more of a benefit than it is a loss to the Boks team. We can so do without this guy...

  • StormersSupporter - 2010-08-17 08:29

I cannot believe some of these comments! It is so sick for people to be happy that the man is injured. Yes, we have much better full backs and he she not be a springbok. But to be happy is just sad. Go well zane, hope he heal quickly

  • Jay - 2010-08-17 09:31

Fantastic news!! Joe Pietersen should be given a shot or Patrick Lambie seeing as SARU screwed up with Frans Steyn. i know Steyn is injured but would not have played anyway because the muppets upstairs cannot follow the right procedures!!

  • Jay - 2010-08-17 10:10

We have been saying this for years Kirwin, unfortunately our anc appointed SARU don't have the brains to thing logical, all they care about is how much money they can stuff in their pockets and how they can ruin Rugby in South Africa!!

  • cobretti - 2010-08-17 10:46

Absolute blessing in disguise, he is the most unimaginative fullback I have seen in my life. All he does from the back is kick a Gary Owen and pray that the opposition knocks it on. If he was not playing for the Bulls, he would never have made the side in the first place.

  • Bigbratz - 2010-08-17 12:29

    No great loss!!!
