Boks underdogs in Brisbane

Garrin Lambley

Cape Town - The Springboks are marginal underdogs heading into their Tri-Nations clash against the Wallabies in Brisbane on Saturday, according to bookmakers.

Kick-off at Suncorp Stadium is 12:00 SA time.

The Boks, coming off consecutive defeats to the All Blacks - in Auckland (32-12) and Wellington (31-17) - are 10/11 underdogs to register their first win of the 2010 Tri-Nations, according to leading SA bookies, GreatOdds.

The Wallabies, who are coming off a four-week break, are 5/6 favourites to keep their record of never having lost to the Boks in Brisbane intact.

The draw is on offer at 16/1.

Saturday's Test will be the sixth match between Australia and South Africa at Suncorp Stadium. Australia have won all five previous encounters, with scores of 32-20 (1997), 32-6 (1999), 29-9 (2003), 49-0 (2006) and 21-6 (2009).

New Zealand top the current Tri-Nations standings with a full-house of 10 points after their bonus point victories at Eden Park and the Westpac Stadium.
