Blooding new Boks important

Bloemfontein – The Springboks had to cope without a number of important players this year and it may just benefit them at the 2011 World Cup, says coach Peter de Villiers.

“I’m already being slammed as someone who constantly looks for excuses. You don’t always get to live in an ideal world. It’s all about how you cope with the hand you are dealt,” said De Villiers.

 “There are players that we are missing, but we also had the opportunity to blood new ones.

“If we experience similar setbacks next year, we would have groomed other players in those positions.”
