Thorn completes title sweep

London - New Zealand lock Brad Thorn on Saturday became the first player to clinch a global three-title sweep of Rugby World Cup, Heineken Cup and Super Rugby honours.

Thorn, 37, completed the triple when he helped Leinster retain their European Cup crown in a 42-14 win over Ulster at Twickenham.

He was also part of the All Blacks' World Cup-winning squad last year and won the old Super 14 title with the Crusaders in 2008.

The multi-faceted Thorn also won four Australian rugby league titles with the Brisbane Broncos in 1996, 1997, 2000 and 2006.

With the All Blacks, for whom he has won 59 caps, he played in three Tri-Nations winning sides in 2003, 2008 and 2010.
