Vito wants to leave on a high
Wellington - Hurricanes number eight Victor Vito is hoping to finish his career with the Wellington outfit on a high, by helping them win their maiden Super Rugby title.
Vito will play his 100th and last match for the Hurricanes, when they face the Lions in this year's final in Wellington on Saturday, before moving to Top 14 side La Rochelle.
"It certainly seems like the script's been written a little bit," he told NZ Newswire.
"A hundred games is pretty massive for me personally, but for me I'm just more excited about the fact that once again we are giving ourselves shot to win a title as a team."
The Hurricanes finished as runners-up in 2015, after losing the final to the Highlanders, but the 29-year-old revealed that the thought of losing two successive finals hasn't crossed his mind.
"Last year was last year and this year's team is a completely different team," he added.
"That sort of thing probably would have hung around a little bit if we had pretty much the same team.
"But it's quite a different feel this year, it's no better or worse, it's just different.
"I think the culture's been building for the last few years and if anything, the teams before, especially last year's team just instilled that belief."
