Umaga wants Barrett at Blues

Cape Town - Blues head coach Tana Umaga has made it no secret that he wants to sign Hurricanes flyhalf Beauden Barrett.

All Black legend and now Blues boss Tana Umaga has already made an attempted bid for the playmaker which subsequently failed.

Umaga commented on the unbelievable talent of the flyhalf and the prospect of playing him this weekend as the Blues take on the Hurricanes in Wellington.

"It'd be good if he didn't play number 10 for them in the weekend but that's not going to happen ... He's on fire at the moment. It doesn't matter where he plays he makes things happen," Umaga said.

"In terms of our interest in him, everyone knows and we're told a lot that we are looking for a 10.

"He's a 10 and he's off contract, but it would be hard to see him move from there. We're like anyone, we've showed an interest and we'll see how that goes.

"But I don't think anyone is banking on him leaving - he's such an integral part of their team."
