Sunwolves lock in hot water

Cape Town - Sunwolves lock Tim Bond has been cited for dangerous play at the ruck during his side's loss to the Rebels on Saturday.

The incident occurred in the 61st minute of the match when Bond is alleged to have charged into a ruck and made contact with the head of the Rebels captain Sean McMahon during the match at Prince Chichibu Memorial Stadium in Tokyo.

Upon further review of the match footage, the Citing Commissioner deemed in his opinion the incident had met the red card threshold for foul play.

The citing is to be considered in the first instance by SANZAAR Duty Judicial Officer Chris Morris.

All SANZAAR disciplinary matters are in the first instance referred to a Duty Judicial Officer hearing to provide the option of expediting the judicial process.

For a matter to be dispensed with at this hearing, the person appearing must plead guilty and accept the penalty offered by the DJO.
