Cape Town - Any hopes Western Province may have harboured of signing Springbok tighthead prop Vincent Koch on a permanent basis have all but disappeared.
Koch’s agent, Gert-Andries van der Merwe, confirmed to Netwerk24 that Koch will further his career abroad later this year.
English club Saracens are believed to be the favourites to sign the 26-year-old.
“Vincent met representatives from Saracens and their systems there are very appealing to him. He hasn’t signed yet, but told me that I can inform Western Province that he won’t be staying in the Cape,” his agent said.
The Stormers loan player is still contracted to the Pumas and expected to play Currie Cup rugby for them later this year, unless he can negotiate an early release from his contract.
Koch represented the Springboks in two Tests last year but was not offered a national contract.
