Cape Town - While Schalk Burger is an injury doubt for this weekend's Super Rugby clash against the Cheetahs, the Stormers do at least have some good news with a number of other players nearing full fitness.
They may not be available for the Cheetahs clash, but the likes of Robert du Preez, Jaco Taute, Wilco Louw and Jean Kleyn are all looking to be back to full fitness following the June international break.
"The problem we have is that they haven't had game time," assistant coach Russell Winter said.
"If they don't play for us then maybe they can play some Currie Cup on the weekend.
"JK (Kleyn) is ready and Wilco Louw is also ready."
Du Preez and Taute, meanwhile, have returned to full training.
Du Preez was Robbie Fleck's first choice flyhalf at the start of the season, but a knee injury in just the second week of the competition forced him onto the sidelines.
Kurt Coleman was then also ruled out for the season after tearing his ACL, leaving rookie flyhalf Jean-Luc du Plessis to don the No 10 jersey.
Du Plessis has performed admirably after being thrown into the deep end, but Du Preez's return would still be a major boost as the Stormers look to secure a home semi-final.
