Spencer to join Mitchell at Bulls?

Cape Town - Former All Black flyhalf Carlos Spencer is reportedly in line for an assistant coaching role at the Bulls.

The Bulls recently announced the appointment of New Zealander John Mitchell as their executive of rugby.

Mitchell, who is busy completing his duties as USA head coach, will join the Bulls in July.

He will coach the Bulls’ Super Rugby team, while current incumbent Nollis Marais will remain as the Blue Bulls coach for the Currie Cup.

And according to Netwerk24, Spencer is on Mitchell’s wish-list and he could be roped in as backline consultant at the Pretoria-franchise.

Spencer, who played 35 Tests for the All Blacks between 1997 and 2004, is currently an assistant coach at Japanese club, Munakata Sanix Blues.

He has previous coaching experience in South Africa, having spent time at the Lions and Eastern Province Kings.
