Raymond Rhule confirms move to WP

Cape Town - Cheetahs wing Raymond Rhule has confirmed his move to Western Province and the Stormers.

Rhule confirmed to Netwerk24 that he will leave the Cheetahs after the completion of this year’s Currie Cup.

The 24-year-old, who boasts three Tests, is expected to be included in the Springbok squad for the Rugby Championship which means he will take no further part in Free State’s Currie Cup campaign.

His 50th Currie Cup game against the Sharks in Bloemfontein late last month was therefore likely his last for the Free State Cheetahs.

An earlier report had linked Rhule with a move to the Stormers, while his Cheetahs team-mates Sergeal Petersen (wing), Oupa Mohoje (flank) are also expected to join the Cape-franchise.

The Stormers, at this stage, have not confirmed any new signings.

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
