Ranger signs for La Rochelle

Cape Town - La Rochelle have announced the signing of former All Black wing Rene Ranger, who will join the Top 14 club on a two-year deal until 2019.

The French outfit, who finished top of the league standings last season before losing in the semi-final stage, confirmed the move on Saturday.

Ranger, 30, has played six times for New Zealand and also was contracted by Montpellier from 2013 to 2015, so is familiar with the Top 14.

Ranger's entire Super Rugby career has been spent with the Blues.
