Cape Town - Former Sharks coach John Plumtree is expected to become the next head coach of the Hurricanes.
This comes after the announcement that Hurricanes coach Chris Boyd will leave the franchise at the end of Super Rugby to become the director of rugby at English club Northampton Saints.
According to the Stuff.co.nz website, Plumtree, who coached the Sharks between 2008 and 2012, is the favourite to become the next head coach of the Hurricanes.
He had been Boyd’s assistant as the Hurricanes since 2015.
Boyd had worked as Plumtree’s assistant at the Sharks in 2009 and 2010.
