The Cheetahs look to go wide inside the Stormers 22 but the pass goes forward and that will be the game. The Stormers come away with a 31-24 victory. The Cheetahs will take confidence from this performance, they scored some fantastic tries especially the Rhule grubber kick which found Petersen. Congratulations to the Stormers for a hard fought victory.
The Cheetahs continue to protect the ball. The Stormers concede the penalty and Blommetjies sets the attacking line-out with a kick which finds touch on the Stormers 22 metre line. It's now or never for the Cheetahs. The Stormers will have to defend for another few minutes and hope to keep the Cheetahs at bay.
Blommetjies gets brought down with a high tackle which results in a penalty for the Cheetahs inside the Stormers 22 metre line. Chance for the Cheetahs here as they set the attacking line-out with a kick which finds touch on the Stormers five metre line.

The ball goes wide and Notshe puts in a kick over the top of the Cheetahs back three. Van Wyk is chasing this one and Van Wyk gets to the ball first and dots down for the five pointer.
Rhule is brought to ground as the Cheetahs continue with all the attacking inside the Stormers half.

TRY, CHEETAHS, PETERSEN! 24-19: Rhule puts in a well timed grubber kick for the Cheetahs to run onto. The Stormers are tracking back at sixes and sevens and make a mess of it as they try to clear the danger and Petersen picks up and goes dots down in the corner for a well worked try.

Kolbe is being taken off on a stretcher after a big collision in the tackle. Lets hope that the injury in not too serious and Kolbe will be back on the training field soon. Schrueder replaces Kolbe at fullback.

Blommetjies finds Kolbe with the kick up field. Kolbe looks to find touch but it is a bad kick as it skews into touch off the side of his boot and the Cheetahs have the line-out deep inside the Stormers half.
TRY, STORMERS, ZAS! 19-9: The Cheetahs draw in the Stormers defence deep in the Stormers half. The attack goes wide and the Cheetahs throw the pass looking to find Petersen on the wing but Zas comes rushing out the line makes the interception and sprints almost the length of the field to dot down for the Stormers second try of the game.
Jean-Luc du Plessis gets the second half going with a deep kick which travels to the Cheetahs 22. The Cheetahs claim the kick and manage to clear up field. Here come the Stormers!
Zeilinga looks to put a kick behind the Stormers back three but the kick is not well timed as Kolbe call for the mark inside the Stormers 22. Kolbe sends the ball into touch and the Stormers go into the break with a five point lead. Both teams have been fantastic on defence with neither team able to assert any dominance at the breakdown. HALF TIME: STORMERS 14-9 CHEETAHS
The scrum goes to ground and the Cheetahs concede the penalty for collapsing the scrum. The Stormers set the attacking line-out with a kick to touch which finds touch deep inside the Cheetahs half.

TRY, STORMERS, Daniel du Plessis! 14-9: Kolisi breaks the line, Kolisi finds Groom, Groom finds Pieter-Steph du Toit with a well timed pass. Du Toit makes valuable metres before the ball goes wide and Daniel du Plessis takes two tacklers with him as he crashes over for his try on debut.

The Stormers are able to win the scrum. Kolbe makes the exit kick but it's straight down the middle and Rhule looks to counter attack from his own half.

Mohoje receives a flat pass from Meyer and stretches and dots down from close range but it looks like it has been knocked forward on the line and the referee awards a five metre defensive scrum to the Stormers. Lots of early pressure coming from the Cheetahs.
Hello and welcome to our live commentary of this Super Rugby matchup between the Stormers and the Cheetahs from DHL Newlands in Cape Town.
With captain fantastic Juan de Jongh out due to injury, Daniel du Plessis will make his super rugby debut at outside centre. Burger is still recovering from a foot injury which means Notshe will don the eight jersey with JD Schickerling on the bench. Johnny Kotze moves to the replacements bench in place of the injured Huw Jones.
The Cheetahs have made minimal changes to the team that beat the Kings last weekend with Shaun Venter being relegated to the bench and Tian Meyer starting. Neill Jordaan is the only other change as he replaces Henco Venter in the substitutes.
The Stormers have won six of the last nine clashes between the two teams dating back to 2012.
The last time the teams met: The Stormers scored two tries on the day securing a 20-10 win. A poor level of skill was to blame for the relatively low score-line as both teams intended to play an expansive game. The Stormers scored in the first half through flyer Leolin Zas. Cheetahs captain Francois Venter replied with a 5-pointer of his own. The Stormers were able to eventually pip their northern rivals through a try from Sikhumbuzo Notshe.
WEATHER: Sun and clear skies welcome the teams onto the field today. Conditions are perfect for some free flowing attacking rugby.
