Thanks for tuning in!
In next weekend's action, the Lions have a bye, while the Hurricanes face the Sharks in Durban.
Been a tough day at the Lions office. It happens when you don't turn up properly against high class. No room for mistakes against the 'Canes— Pat Symcox (@PatSymcox77) April 30, 2016

A thoroughly deserved win for the men from Wellington. They dominated the breakdown area and taught the Lions a lesson on how to finish off opportunity.

Highway 1 for the Lions. Throw in a bit of patience and a bit of grunt. Recycle without committing too many players. In the game— Front Row Grunt (@FrontRowGrunt) April 30, 2016

Lions have been very poor at the breakdown tonight. Conversly the Canes have exploited everything and flooded it.— Brenden Nel (@BrendenNel) April 30, 2016

Welcome back for the second half!
Barrett gets play started...
CURRIE CUP RESULT
Western Province have beaten the Golden Lions XV 27-24 at Newlands.
Turned over by the 'Canes but J Savea is bundled into touch, ending the contest. Super finishing from the Hurricanes who controlled the breakdown excellently with their turnovers. Some credit has to go to the Lions for the way they fought back in the second half, but the damage was long done. A comprehensive thrashing from the Hurricanes which will raise serious questions for Johan Ackermann and his players this week.
LIONS 17-50 HURRICANES
Perhaps the Hurricanes can grab one final score, with a scrum on halfway. Instead the ball is lost and the Lions try to build an attack, Van der Walt spinning out of some tackles...
Knock-on by the Lions as they attempt to find another consolation score. Time certainly running out though.
Tired bodies now for the Lions as Kriel puts down a pass. It's been a long night for the hosts.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 17-50: Barrett brings up the half century for the 'Canes.
TRY, HURRICANES, J SAVEA! 17-48: What a clinical display this is. Gibson-Park spots some space down the blindside and surges forward, before releasing J Savea for his second try.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 17-43: Order restored for Barrett after that last miss, with yet another conversion.
TRY, HURRICANES, ASO! 17-41: They're in for another! Coles slight of hand for a hooker shines through again as he offloads to the centre after a fine break upfield.
Van der Walt unable to convert for the Lions, leaving the gap at 19 points.
TRY, LIONS, KRIEL! 17-36: There's another one back! Tecklenberg's break is key before his back row colleague Kriel goes over after some steady phases by the hosts.
Sense that the 'Canes are just losing their early tempo as the Lions control possession, but there's still a huge deficit on the scoreboard.
Jantjies down for treatment as he comes off the field, major setback for the hosts.
Plenty of kicking for territory from both sides before J Savea threatens with a big run down the wing, but the final pass isn't there and goes into touch.
CONVERSION, LIONS, JANTJIES! 12-36: Extra two points from the boot of the fly-half to close the gap.
TRY, LIONS, MAPOE! 10-36: Vital score. A good run back from Van der Walt starts an attack finished off by the Springbok centre.
It's no secret that the Lions need points but a stint of possession inside the Hurricanes' half ends with a turnover.
Faced with a tough angle Barrett can't convert and that leads to half-time as the Lions kick the ball away. What a performance from last season's finalists, but at the same time the Lions and their supporters will be bitterly disappointed with that first half showing.
LIONS 5-36 HURRICANES
TRY, HURRICANES, GOODES! 5-36: What a half from last year's finalists. After both teams try to find territory with the boot it's the prop who surges over the line. Domination.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 5-31: Perfect again from Barrett, his fifth kick of the day.
TRY, HURRICANES, JANE! 5-29: Another interception score for the visitors! And it's Jane in for his second! The Lions maul was looking strong before Jane picked off a pass and sprinted away for his side's fourth try.
No conversion from Jantjies so the gap stands at 19 points.
TRY, LIONS, VAN DER MERWE! 5-24: Boy how the Lions needed that. Good pressure on the 'Canes line sees Mapoe denied a score by the TMO, before the hosts kick to the corner from a penalty. They set up the drive and the hooker, who scored two last week, crashes over.
PENALTY, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 0-24: He can't miss so far. Sweet strike from the All Black as the 'Canes build their lead.
Mapoe thinks he's away for an interception but he's called offside, allowing Barrett a chance to add three more points...
Multiple scrum resets as the game settles down, with the Lions facing a mountain of a comeback already.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 0-21: 100 percent record for Barrett so far today as he lands his third conversion.
TRY, HURRICANES, JANE! 0-19: Yes it can! The veteran All Blacks winger has his score confirmed by the TMO and the Lions are reeling here at Ellis Park.
Barrett's long kick upfield has the Lions scrambling, with De Klerk forced to cough up a five-metre scrum after being swarmed on by the 'Canes chasers. Could this be try number three?
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 0-14: No mistake from Barrett there.
TRY, HURRICANES, PROCTOR! 0-12: Big few minutes for the visitors! This time the centre Proctor goes over as he pounces for an interception score with the Lions on the attack. Kick to come.
CONVERSION, HURRICANES, BARRETT! 0-7: Barrett with the extra two points as the Hurricanes take the lead.
TRY, HURRICANES, J SAVEA! 0-5: There''''s the first score! Good work from Ardie Savea and a fine offload from Coles in the build up eventually ends with a score for the All Blacks winger.
Hurricanes survive a period of pressure from the Lions by winning a penalty, which Barrett fires upfield into touch.
Good early running from Skosan as the Lions exit their 22. Hurricanes already pose a real threat.
Hello and welcome to our live coverage of this Round 10 Super Rugby clash between the Lions and the Hurricanes.
The Lions have made three changes to their starting line-up as they have been forced to name a second new-look prop duo in as many weeks. Prop Corne Fourie rotates with Dylan Smith while Pieter Scholtz gets his first start of the season. Blindside flank Cyle Brink drops to the bench and is replaced by Jaco Kriel, who pairs up with captain Warren Whiteley and Warwick Tecklenburg to form the loose trio.
Lock Vaea Fifita's elevation to the starting team represents the only change to the 'Canes side. Jamison Gibson-Park comes into the 23 for Te Toiroa Tahuriorangi, who has remained in New Zealand, while James Marshall edges Otere Black as the cover for fly-half and full-back.
And we''re off at Ellis Park! Jantjies gets the game underway.
