Lions to host Bulls in pre-season friendly

Johannesburg - The Lions will host the Bulls in a Super Rugby pre-season friendly at Ellis Park on Saturday.

Kick-off will be at 15:00

The Lions are looking to go one better in 2018 after finishing as runners-up in both 2016 and 2017.

They do have new leadership, though, in the form of Swys de Bruin who has replaced Johan Ackermann as coach.

The Bulls, meanwhile, will have their first Super Rugby season under new coach John Mitchell and will be desperate to improve on their poor showings over the past two seasons.

This year's tournament returns to the more conventional 15-team, three-conference format.

The South African Conference will be made up of the Lions, Bulls, Sharks, Stormers and Jaguares from Argentina.
