Lions maul Southern Kings

Cape Town - The Lions proved far too strong for a game Southern Kings side in a Super Rugby encounter played at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, running out winners by 45-10.

The visitors scored three converted tries in the first half through Warren Whiteley, Courtnall Skosan, Armand van der Merwe, while the Kings saw Luzuko Vulindlu cross the whitewash as the Lions led 21-5 at half-time.

In the second half, further tries followed the for the visitors with Ruan Combrinck (2), vd Merwe and Rohan Janse van Rensburg all scoring while Chris Cloete added a brilliant individual effort for the Kings.  

Next week the Lions face the Hurricanes at Ellis Park while the Kings travel to Argentina to face the Jaguares.
