Lealiifano targets rare win over Crusaders

Cape Town - Brumbies flyhalf Christian Lealiifano hopes to get one back over the Crusaders after ending up on the losing side many times in his career.

The pick of the Round 10 fixtures pits the Australian Conference leaders up against the highest-placed wildcard side, with the two teams combined having won 11 of their 14 matches so far this year.

Any hopes that Leali'ifano and the Brumbies might have had about the Crusaders being weaker this season following the departures of Richie McCaw and Dan Carter have been wiped away based on the seven-time champions' start to the year.

Lealiifano however is desperate to pick up a victory against a side who he's had little joy against since making his debut back in 2007.

"Every game we play against them we've either been absolutely pumped or it's been really close," he told the Canberra Times.

"Obviously we've only won one since 2009, so one game out of a 10-year career is pretty poor. I'm looking to turn that around.

"I think for the team focus, it's just playing well in front of our home fans again, back at home and putting on a good performance."

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
