Cape Town - An knee injury will keep the talismanic Jaco Kriel from touring Australia as the Lions named their 27-man squad set to play three Super Rugby fixtures in the country.
Madosh Tambwe also misses out as he is currently with the Junior Boks preparing for the U20 World Championships.
Warren Whiteley will captain the team for fixtures against the Force, Rebels and Brumbies.
The Lions currently lead Africa Conference 2 after their latest victory, a come-from-behind 24-21 win over the Jaguares in Johannesburg.
