Kaino cited for dangerous tackle

Cape Town - Blues captain Jerome Kaino is in hot water after being cited for a dangerous tackle in his side's 23-19 loss to the Hurricanes in Auckland on Friday.

Kaino has been issued with a Citing Commissioner Warning for contravening Law 10.4 (e) Dangerous tackling around the head.

The incident occurred when Kaino tackled Hurricanes hooker Leni Apisai without the ball in the 24th minute of the match.

The referee had acted upon the incident by issuing a penalty.

Upon further review of the match footage the Citing Commissioner deemed a Citing Commissioner Warning was appropriate.

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
