Cape Town - Jaguares wing Santiago Cordero has been ruled out of the first part of his side's tour to New Zealand and Japan after he was involved in a car accident.
Cordero, who came on as a replacement in the Jaguares' 13-8 loss to the Stormers at Vélez Sarsfield in Buenos Aires on Saturday, sustained cuts and bruises in the accident which occurred on a wet road after the match.
"I was on my way back home, it was raining a bit and suddenly I lost control of the car," Cordero told the official UAR website.
"Luckily it was just a fright and I'm ok."
The Jaguares are set to play three matches in New Zealand and one in Japan but Cordero was not part of their squad which flew out to Auckland on Sunday and his place in the touring party has been taken by Ramiro Moyano.
Cordero will join the second leg of the Jaguares' tour which kicks off against the Blues in Albany on Saturday. Their remaining matches in New Zealand are against the Hurricanes in Wellington and Crusaders in Christchurch.
They then take on the Sunwolves in Tokyo on Saturday, April 23.
