Highlanders add to Brumbies' woes

Cape Town - The Highlanders got back to winning ways and added to the Brumbies' woes with victory in their Vodacom Super Rugby clash in Invercargill on Saturday.

The Highlanders won 23-10 after leading 7-3 at half-time.

The Highlanders scored two tries through flyhalf Lima Sopoaga and fullback Ben Smith. Sopoaga was also on target with two conversions and three penalties.

The Brumbies replied with a try by hooker Josh Mann-Rea and a conversion and penalty by flyhalf Christian Leali'ifano.

The Highlanders picked up four points for their victory and moved to third in the New Zealand Conference and fourth in the Australasian Group.

The Brumbies left empty-handed, but remained second in the Australia Conference and sixth in the Australasian Group.

In next weekend's Round 11 action, the Highlanders travel to Hamilton to face the Chiefs (Saturday, May 7 at 09:35 SA time), while the Brumbies host the Bulls in Canberra (Friday, May 6 at 11:45 SA time).
