Cape Town - The Western Force have added to their backrow stocks with the signing of Fijian number eight Isi Naisarani for the 2017 and 2018 seasons.
Naisarani has spent his first year in Australia playing in the Shute Shield for Souths and has been a force all season, which then lead to his National Rugby Championship (NRC) debut for Brisbane City, where he has played every game scoring three tries.
The 21-year-old says he is thrilled to get started at the club and can’t wait to be a part of the Force family.
"It’s been a long journey for me," Naisarani told the Western Force's official website.
"I’m excited to come to Perth and the Western Force and join the Force family."I came to Australia last year and I thank God that the Force have secured me with a contract."
With just one game left in this season’s NRC, Naisarani is eager to get over to the West coast and begin his first Super Rugby pre-season.
"Head coach Dave Wessels spoke to me last week and told me that pre-season kicks off in early November, so I’m excited to join the team."
Wessels says Naisarani's rapid rise has been quite incredible and is looking forward to him joining the rest of the squad.
"Isi has been very impressive in the NRC, he’s a dynamic ball carrier, he’s big and powerful and I think he’ll add another dimension to our back row," said Wessels.
"He’s definitely showed a willingness to work. He’s actually got himself a personal trainer in Brisbane and he’s working hard away from the field to be ready to come into our pre-season.
"So that also shows an aptitude to want to learn and that’s exactly the type of person that we’re looking for."
