Ebersohn at fullback for Cheetahs

Cape Town - Cheetahs coach Franco Smith has named his team to tackle the Sunwolves in a Super Rugby clash in Singapore on Saturday.

Smith has made a few changes to the team that lost 20-10 to the Stormers in Bloemfontein last week.

Up front, the coach has opted for a new front row, with Ox Nche, Jacques du Toit and Johan Coetzee all starting. Charles Marais, Torsten van Jaarsveld and Maks van Dyk move down to the bench.

Francois Uys is included as vice-captain in the starting line-up, replacing Springbok Lood de Jager. De Jager is being rested for the game in accordance to SA Rugby's policy to rest top Springboks during the competition.

Henco Venter also replaces Neill Jordaan in the No 8 jersey.

In the backline, Niel Marais starts at flyhalf, with Fred Zeilinga moving to the bench.

Sias Ebersohn also gets a starting role, but not in his regular position of flyhalf. He replaces Clayton Blommetjies at fullback.

Hilton Lobberts also comes in on the bench, providing cover at lock and loose forward.

Saturday's clash at the Singapore National Stadium is scheduled for 12:55 (SA time).

No! I think the smart thing to do is start again with a younger skipper ...

I'd keep Siya captain for now, but look to have someone else for 2027.
