De Allende will 'soon' hit form - Fleck

Cape Town - Stormers coach Robbie Fleck is confident that Springbok centre Damian de Allende will soon return to his best form.

De Allende has been out of sorts since making his return from an ankle against the Sunwolves at Newlands last month.

His lapses on defence, in particular, have proved costly for the Cape franchise in Super Rugby.

But his coach is not a worried man.

“Damian is a dedicated guy and he is not far from his best,” Fleck told Netwerk24.

“There were a few mistakes on defence, but the problem was also the guys around him. He has done a few good things and it was his strong run which led to Pieter-Steph du Toit’s try against the Waratahs.

“It’s only a matter of time before Damian is back to his old self.”

The Stormers face the Sunwolves in Singapore on Saturday (kick-off 13:55 SA time), with Fleck to name his team later on Thursday.
