Crotty doubtful for Lions clash

Hamilton - All Blacks centre Ryan Crotty suffered a rib cartilage injury during the Crusaders' 25-22 victory over the Highlanders and is in doubt for the Test series against the British and Irish Lions, his Super Rugby coach said on Saturday.

The 28-year-old was injured during the second half of the clash at Rugby League Park in Christchurch and immediately replaced. He had an ice bag strapped to his chest after the game.

"He's done a rib cartilage, so I think that Steve Hansen will be tucking into his notebook and thinking who's next," Crusaders coach Scott Robertson said after the game.

The All Blacks squad will be named by coach Hansen on June 8, with the Crusaders - who will have their All Blacks available - due to play the Lions in Christchurch next Saturday.
