Cape Town - The Stormers are sweating over the fitness of Nizaam Carr, who is battling a shoulder injury ahead of this weekend's clash against the Western Force in Perth.
Carr left the field just before half time in his side's 57-31 over the Rebels in Melbourne on Saturday, and a decision on his availability for the Force match would only be taken once a full assessment was done.
"The only injury concern is Nizaam Carr. He's got a bit of a shoulder injury. He came off with that," coach Robbie Fleck said.
"He's being assessed by the medical staff and we'll make a call on him tomorrow (Monday) morning."
Fleck added that he would not be replacing Carr in his squad should the Springbok loose forward be declared unavailable.
Sikhumbuzo Notshe replaced Carr on Saturday, while the hard-hitting Rynhardt Elstadt was also on the bench as loose forward cover.
"We've got good cover so should Nemo (Carr) go back, and hopefully not, but should he go back we'll probably replace him with a backline player," said Fleck.
"There's enough forward cover here. We came over over with a 16 (forwards) /11 (backline players) split so we've got enough forward cover here."
The Stormers went into the Rebels game with six forwards and just two backline players on their bench.
