Cape Town - The Bulls will open their 2017 Super Rugby campaign in February with an away fixture against the Stormers in Cape Town and will end their normal fixture list against the same opponents in Pretoria in July.
The fixtures has been announced by SANZAAR on Tuesday and the Bulls were handed a tough, but exciting schedule for their assault on the title they won in 2007, 2009 and 2010.
They start with away derbies against the Stormers and Cheetahs before a bye in week three.
The Bulls then travel to New Zealand for clashes against the Blues and Chiefs, before concluding their overseas tour with a match against the Sunwolves in Tokyo, Japan.
The Loftus Versfeld team will then home matches against the Jaguares and Cheetahs before a second bye in week 10.
A tough six weeks then awaits the home side with matches at home against the Crusaders and Highlanders, followed by the Jukskei derby against the Lions. They then host defending champions, the Hurricanes, at home before an away clash against the Sharks.
Their regular season will come to a close with home matches against the Southern Kings and Stormers.
“This is a very demanding draw, but that is exactly how we expected it to be. The Bulls team of 2017 is expected to improve on this year’s performance and our improvement will be tested by this draw and quality of opposition. It is worth getting excited about and with so many quality teams coming to Loftus Versfeld, we will be banking on massive crowd support to assist us,” Bulls coach Nollis Marais said.
