Cape Town - The Springboks in the Bulls team need to start firing if the men from Pretoria are to resurrect their Super Rugby season, former Bok coach Nick Mallett has said.
The Bulls got back to winning ways at the weekend with a hard-fought 26-13 victory over Argentina’s Jaguares.
But it was only their second win of the season and tougher contests lie in wait.
The Bulls host the struggling Cheetahs at home this weekend where a win will be non-negotiable heading into their bye weekend.
But after that, the Bulls face stern challenges at home against the Crusaders (May 6) and Highlanders (May 13), before an away trip to the Lions (May 20).
“The Bulls need to get their confidence back and their front five have to start playing properly again. There were some good signs against the Jaguares, but the Springbok players in the Bulls team haven’t really performed so far this season and they need to come out and start firing to have any chance of beating the New Zealand teams or the Lions away,” Mallett said in the SuperSport studio at the weekend.
