Barry returns to Stormers, Mapimpi joins Sharks

Cape Town - Wings Craig Barry and Makazole Mapimpi played their final match for the Cheetahs in their 45-24 PRO14 win over the Southern Kings in Bloemfontein this past weekend.

Barry will return to Cape Town to join the Stormers’ training squad ahead of Super Rugby, while Mapimpi will join his new franchise, the Sharks.

Barry, who can also slot in at fullback, was a stalwart for Maties in the Varsity Cup before playing for Western Province in last year’s Currie Cup.

He was loaned to the Cheetahs in November last year but according to Netwerk24, will now return  to the Cape.

The Sharks announced the signing of Mapimpi in November last year.
